PUTTING community FIRST

Sacramento’s housing mandates raise real concerns about impacts to our quality of life. I will keep pressuring state representatives to seek legislative changes. I supported the City’s first residential developer fees to alleviate stress on our infrastructure and I am committed to continue pursuing pragmatic and real solutions to maintain local control.

Public safety remains a priority. I backed hiring seven additional police officers, voted for a drone program, initiated the replacement of Fire Station 2, and secured funding for critical Sepulveda Boulevard safety improvements. I will continue advocating for sensible E-bike legislation and enforcement. 

Our local small businesses are vital to our community. I’ve championed solutions that support them, such as the Circuit Waverider, expansion of our beloved Farmers Market, and free holiday parking.

Public Safety

  • Authorized the hiring of eight new sworn police positions to increase visibility and response.

  • Secured critical Caltrans financial support for safety improvements on Sepulveda Boulevard.

  • Addressed E-bike safety through proactive policies, education, and enhanced enforcement.

Environmental Stewardship

  • Implemented the landmark Plastic Bag Ban and subsequent lid and straw restrictions.

  • Led the effort for a Smoke-Free Manhattan Beach.

  • Established the city-wide food waste recycling program.

  • Helped establish a Joint Use Agreement with the Clean Power Alliance and served on the Board

  • 2008-2010 City of Manhattan Beach Inaugural Environmental Task Force

COmmunity Service

  • Manhattan Beach Education Foundation Supporter

  • Initiated transformation of Mira Costa High School with the new Math & Science Building and Little Theater

Enhancing Our Small Town Character

  • Served as Council Liaison for the Downtown Business Association and North End District.

  • Approved smart parking kiosks to reclaim sidewalk space and modernize metering.

  • Launched the Circuit WaveRider microtransit pilot program to provide a convenient alternative to reduce local traffic congestion.

  • Supported the growth of the Farmer’s Market by relocating it to Civic Center Plaza.

  • Advocated for A-frame signage and benches to help small businesses thrive downtown.

  • Navigated the strategic acquisition of the Union Bank parcel for the community.

  • Championed public art initiatives, including murals and utility box wraps, to enhance community vibrancy and showcase local creativity.

Infrastructure & Resiliency

  • Completed the Peck Reservoir and modernized critical water infrastructure.

  • Completed the construction of Fire Station 2, ensuring modern facilities for our firefighters.

  • Passed Measure MMB, securing revenue for long-term infrastructure needs.

  • Delivered the Manhattan Beach Library, Skate Park, and Roundhouse Aquarium rehab.

  • 2006-2008 City of Manhattan Beach Facilities Strategic Master Plan Steering Committee

  • Supported Sepulveda Bridge Widening Project to improve access and safety for residents
